Join us in Winston-Salem, NC for the 2017 Carolinas District Spring Convention, on March 24-25. We will be returning to the convenient downtown facilities we used when we last visited in 2014. The Marriott Winston-Salem will serve as the headquarters hotel. Contests will be held at the First Presbyterian Church Worship Center, an easy 2-block walk away. Our hosts for the weekend will be the Triad Harmony Express.
The action kicks off Thursday evening with Harmony Platoon, followed by more activities Friday afternoon.
The main activities for the weekend will be the chorus and quartet contests, both District championships and qualifying International. The quartet contests start Friday evening with International quartet qualifier semi-finals, which also serve as the District championship qualifier and senior championship. The District Chorus champion and the District Chorus representative for the 2018 International contest will be decided on Saturday. Saturday evening will conclude with the International quartet qualification finals and the spectacular showcase featuring the top competitors from the weekend. And of course, there will be the various chapter hospitality suites and singing to all hours of the morning.

We will again have a Woodshedding room and Harmony Platoon. Both of these give you a chance to enjoy the main reason you became a Barbershopper: to sing! Harmony Platoon was very successful, so we’re pleased to offer it again. Harmony Platoon gives you more of what got you hooked on Barbershop: singing. You learn four songs (“Caroline”, “Drivin’ Me Crazy”, “I’ve Been Working on the Railroad”, and “Lida Rose”) ahead of time, and then sing with other similarly prepared men in a quality quartet experience that is exciting, challenging, and fun. Cost of the music and learning tracks is $25. For more information, contact Jim Gordon. Harmony Platoon activities will start Thursday evening.
