Bob started singing in public at age 4. After many years singing with church choirs, glee clubs, in bars and coffee houses, a friend got him to an open-house put on by The Singing Buckeyes (Columbus, OH) in 1976. One brief Sunday afternoon and he was hooked.

After singing Lead in Columbus for 8 years, including 2 BHS International Chorus Contests and a ton of “fun” quartering, his career took him away from formal barbershopping for way too many years.

He got back into barbershopping with the Nashua and Concord, NH, chapters in 2001, met his wonderful wife Joyce online (and turned her from classical singing to bbshop), moved to beautiful Asheville, and joined Land of the Sky, Jan. 2003.

He has been Asheville’s Business manager since then, VP of Marketing & PR, BOTY in 2006, and is currently Chapter President. He was also Dixie District VP of Marketing & PR in 2010 prior to the formation of the Carolinas District, and has been on the Society Marketing & PR Committee since 2008.

Bob owns and manages an online nutritional supplement retail company following a career in medical device sales and marketing management, and business development.
